Approach
SELECT for Cities is a European project that aims to develop an open, standardized, data-driven, and user-centric platform for European cities, with the common challenge to develop “cities as large-scale Internet of Everything labs”.
The solution we provided is called City Enabler, a city oriented customization of our proprietary solution "Digital Enabler", and it has been used to build use cases for the City of Antwerp and the City of Helsinki.

Solution
Its functionalities and components can be summarised as follows:
- Data Source Discovery Engine: finds data sources available on the web.
- Device Manager: registers and manages IoT devices with different protocols.
- City Data Work Space: stores and manages data from different sources.
- Data mash up Editor: harmonizes data regardless to their sources.
- Open Innovation Area: for co-creation processes between city stakeholders.
- APIs Portal: for the interaction with the Digital Enabler platform via Open API.
- Dashboard Manager and Presenter: for the creation of dashboards useful to visualize, correlate and analyze data.
- Citizen Data Vault: to manage personal data in compliance with EU GDPR.
- Mock-up Editor: allows fast prototyping and APP deployment.
